Derby man who won speedboat on Bullseye finally scraps it

A winning Bullseye contestant has finally scrapped the winning speedboat, we can reveal.

Mike Kaye won the Benetti 1000 in 1989 and it has been in his back garden since then. He told us, ‘In hindsight it was completely worthless winning the boat. We are the furthest place from the sea in the UK so I should’ve taken a smaller cash prize.’

‘Jim Bowen really sold the boat to me though. Big and shiny, great speeds. If I could just get to Wales it would’ve been fine But there was just no way of getting there with that boat. We put it in the back garden and that was it’

Mike isn’t the only one who fell foul of the speedboat dream, many couples from the Granada and LWT areas ended up with giant unusable boats when they could’ve walked away with £150 pounds.’

‘Oh well, got £200 in scrap though.’
