An Abersoch cafe has insisted the BLT it sells for £67 is a fair price for the sandwich.

‘The Sandy View’ formally know as the ‘Hên Toiled’ had locals Gary Jones and his friends visit for the first time since it changed hands. They said they were shocked at the price of the BLT, especially as it didn’t include bacon, lettuce or tomato.

‘We all chipped in to buy it as we were quite intrigued, but when they came out with just a bap. We were very disappointed.’

The new owners Tim & Zara don’t agree with the complaints, telling us, ‘We are not a charity, we can’t just give away free bacon, lettuce and tomato on every BLT we make, these are tough times for businesses…not for us though, which is why we decided to only open two months of the year before we head home.’

Gary Jones says he won’t be going again, adding, ‘As we were starving and skint, we had to split the bap into four pieces, went to the beach and found some seaweed to put on it. I won’t be going back.’
