Woman humiliated after being seen in Primark

Beryl Crump Local News

A Woman has told of her humiliation and shame after being spotted shopping in Primark.

Catrin Arnold was busy grabbing 53 pairs of the same leggings while she bumped into a work colleague in the popular discount clothing store.

She told us, ‘I know there’s nothing wrong with shopping in there really, apart from the clothes definitely being made by kids in sweatshops somewhere, it’s good value and I like the items. So those kids do a great job.’

‘But when I seen my work colleague just standing there, the shame flooded my body. I was used to sounding quite quirky when I’d say I get my jeans or whatever from Vinted, but that’s ruined now. She looked at me like she knew now that I was not better than her, and that’s what hurts the most.’

‘It was also a relief. I stood there and said, ‘yes I shop here and I love it’ and I thought she was going to admit the same but instead she said, ‘I’m here to use the toilet’. I’ll be moving jobs now. There’s no way I’m being the Primark girl.’
