David May still sub for Man Utd

Defender David May is still a substitute for Manchester United, we can reveal.

May, 54, has been sitting on the bench at Old Trafford for 15 years ever since Alex Ferguson left, as the club continue to need options at the back.

May told us, ‘I’m not sure if they know I’m here or not at this point but either way it’s a great seat. If they’re still giving Johnny Evans a game here and there I think I might get a chance sooner or later.’

‘If it all goes pear shaped and they notice me, I’ll go back to Blackburn and see if I can slot myself in the dugout there.’

A Man Utd spokesperson said, ‘Is he? Well best we keep it as it is for now as things are all over the place. He could slot in that defence no problem actually, and he’s faster than Casemiro…in fact, we’ll extend his contract.’
