Gwynedd Traffic Warden to let motorists off if he is referred to as ‘Sheriff’

Barry Gatherround Local News

A Traffic Warden will let illegal parkers off if the motorist calls him ‘Sheriff’, we can report.

Civil enforcement officer Clive Byland has been in the job for over 10 years. But now he has admitted to the Daily Flange how motorists can help themselves.

He told us, ‘Call me ‘Sheriff’ and I might think about letting you off. I am like one, and it’s about time we got the recognition that we are like cops and people should address us like one.’

‘I’ve had myself a Sheriff badge made which my bosses won’t let me use but they will if the public call me one first. I’m willing to let one or two illegal bits of parking go unpunished if you say ‘Yes, Sheriff’ or ‘No, sheriff’ and leave by saying ‘Thanks, Sheriff.’

It’s not known if Clive demands will be met but until then he wants the public to know him as ‘Sheriff Clive.’
